R.E.A.C.T. -
Can you?
You have encountered a two-vehicle head on collision on a desolate road. It
is 2:00am and there are no lights on the highway except for the lights from the
vehicles. You are alone, have a well-stocked first aid kit, no cellular phone or
means of communication. The nearest town to you is approximately twenty
kilometres
away. In the darkness, you can make out four casualties.

An elderly woman who is screaming loudly that she cannot move or feel her
arms or legs. A 2 year old little girl who is unconscious, not breathing and
does not have a pulse. Her mother who is unconscious, not breathing but has a
pulse and an elderly man who is unconscious, breathing, has a pulse but is
bleeding badly from his left lower leg.
Your heart is racing, your mind is whirling What do You do? Who do you treat
first?

A co-worker mistakenly splashes a caustic solution on their hand. Do you wash
it with water or not? Where can you find this information out? Shouldnt the
container have some information on it?

Your child is turning blue, cant speak and is running toward you with
their hands grasping their throat. Another child tells you they were eating a
hotdog. Are you prepared? Can you R.E.A.C.T.?
